May 15: Cultural ‘Competence’
Dr. Thistle Inga Elias, from the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh, will discuss Cultural Competency vs. Cultural Humility. She will provide valuable information and strategies for working in communities.
April 24: Mental Health for CHWs
Mike Bowersox, Licensed Clinical Therapist, and CHW ally will discuss the topic that many of you have requested, Mental Health Issues. The second half of the program will be devoted to the questions you have in your role as a CHW.
June 5: SNAP Food Program (formerly known as Food Stamps)
Presented by Samantha Serrano, from the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Learn about SNAP and the current services provided by the Food Bank.
July 24: Update on Long-COVID
Join our experts from the UPMC Post-COVID Clinic to learn about the continuing physical and sleep disorder problems associated with long COVID.
